Overview: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team – this internship program offers a great opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in accounting and finance. As an intern, you will help with daily accounting tasks, assist with month-end closing, and support senior accountants with various financial operations.
Job description:
- Help in processing invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documents.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including preparing and tracking invoices and payments.
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, organizing documents, and data entry – accordance with company policies.
- Assist with the preparation of month-end closing reports and journal entries.
- Participate in audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
- Participate in company’s learning and development sessions to gain a deeper understanding of processes and practices in the company.
Qualifications:
- Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Xero and MYOB is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
