Job Summary:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. In a manufacturing environment, this role involves cost analysis, inventory accounting, and supporting production-related financial planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and local regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits.
- Assist with tax compliance and statutory filings (VAT, corporate tax, etc.).
2. Cost and Inventory Accounting
- Maintain standard costing and analyze manufacturing variances.
- Monitor raw material, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods inventory.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and participate in physical inventory counts.
- Work closely with production and procurement to manage cost efficiency.
3. General Ledger and Journal Entries
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Post and review journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
- Ensure accurate allocation of expenses and income.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze variances between actuals and budget, providing explanations to management.
- Support business units with financial insights for decision-making.
5. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial processes.
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of financial records.
