The Bar & Kitchen Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting in both bar and kitchen operations. This includes preparing beverages, maintaining cleanliness, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring a smooth workflow between the front and back of house.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a timely and courteous manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies.
- Check identification to ensure customers meet legal drinking age requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of low inventory.
Kitchen Duties:
- Assist in basic food preparation (e.g., portioning, assembling ingredients, plating).
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, tools, and workstations.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchenware.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper storage of ingredients.
- Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries.
General:
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a high standard of service.
- Provide support during peak hours, including taking customer orders if needed.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally.
- Follow opening and closing checklists as assigned.
- Adhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and cleanliness protocols.
Qualifications:
- Experience in food & beverage service or hospitality preferred (but not required).
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Barista or bartending experience is a plus.
- Must be flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting light to moderate weight (e.g., boxes, trays).
- Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments.
