We are excited to invite a dynamic and highly skilled professional to join our team as a Biologist. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in biology or a related field and a passion for wildlife management. Your Responsibilities:
Aviation wildlife management:
- Strong Bird ID skills - Ability to accurately identify bird species by sight and sound in the field.
- Conduct Bird Surveys & Wildlife Assessments – Conduct detailed surveys and assessments to identify species around different airports throughout the Philippines and assist with evaluation of potential wildlife hazards to aviation. Prepare regular reports for clients summarising survey data collected, its analysis, and follow-up recommendations.
- Develop Innovative Strategies – Assist with the design, implementation and monitoring of wildlife management plans incorporating habitat modification, advanced deterrent techniques and cutting-edge wildlife monitoring programs to minimize wildlife-related incidents.
- Collaborate Across Domestic and International Teams – Collaborate with our Singaporean partner remotely to ensure a cohesive approach to wildlife control. Work closely with airport operations and management to implement effective wildlife hazard management solutions, including wildlife fencing, bird control systems, and habitat management practices.
- Prepare & Present Expertise – Assist in the creation of technical reports and delivery of engaging presentations as well as participate in training sessions on wildlife management for staff, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Investigate & Mitigate Incidents – Assist with wildlife strike investigations and environmental emergencies to ensure effective responses and mitigation measures, as necessary.
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, ecology, or a related field. Higher qualifications are advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in biology/environmental consulting work or a related field. Project management experience is advantageous.
- Fluent in both English and Filipino (written and spoken).
- Strong expertise in identification of Philippine bird species, with additional taxa being advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software preferred.
- Understanding of Philippine regulations/guidelines pertaining to wildlife conservation and the environment is advantageous.
- Able to work independently and willingness to travel frequently to multiple airports across the Philippines while collaborating remotely with the Singapore team.
- Excellent report writing with attention to detail as well as analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data for formulation environmental and wildlife management strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and build positive relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
