Job Description
The candidate is primarily responsible for the accounting related matters for the loans licensing business in the Philippines (including a holding company in SG). This role reports to the Controller, PH, and dotted reporting to the Process Lead for the Group’s payment and loan business. This role will also be appointed as the Treasurer for the local Philippines entity for this business line.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
Perform & review the accounting functions within Lazada Group including:
Maintain the loan and interest records
Balance sheet reconciliation schedules
Periodic vendor reconciliation
Balance sheet, profit and loss and reporting packages
VAT reporting, withholding tax, transfer pricing and corporate tax
Intercompany matters
Month vs month analysis of balance sheet and P&L.
Ensure local accounting standards application, issue identification and resolution.
Working closely with the Shared Services team.
Involve and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
Review vendor aging to ensure existence of liabilities, long overdues are reviewed and followed up promptly.
Monthly accruals for expenses that are not recorded via the procurement system.
Review reporting packages before submission to Regional.
Preparation of annual Statutory financial statements and meeting statutory and compliance timeline.
Assist with audit request during annual financial statements and BIR/tax audits.
Highlights to management risk and opportunities in terms of changes in accounting standards, law and regulatory requirements.
Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period.
Subject matter expert for key systems, including suggesting improvement areas and documented the SOP.
Participate in projects as required.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting
At least 8 years of relevant experience in operational accounting.
CA/CPA and prior experiences in Big 4 would be advantageous
Experience in financial services (bank or financial institutions) e.g. BNPL is required
Exposure to SEC reporting is preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
Ability to execute and follow-through completion and documentation
Experience in SAP is required.
Meticulous and with good attention to details
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
