MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Lead the protection and enhancement of the company’s reputation and license to operate through high-level pro-active stakeholder engagement, representing the company externally in matters relevant to the business and effectively communicating the company’s contributions to society.
Translate external expectations to what that means for the business, providing the businesses an outside perspective and anticipate and manage issues at the same time unlock growth opportunities in the company’s value chain helping link value for brands and building brands with purpose.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and monitor external public affairs issues which influence public perceptions of Nestle and/or the development of issues affecting the company, and where appropriate, develop or strengthen strategic relations with selected organizations.
- Protect the interests of NPI which may be affected by proposed legislative and/or regulatory issues.
- Maintain compliance with applicable government rules and regulations affecting the manufacture, sale and distribution of NPI products.
- Provide critical counsel, leadership and strategic action plans and communication input on regulatory and public affairs issues that could impact on corporate reputation.
- Conceptualize, design and implement relevant CSV programs to support the Nestle Mission and Vision.
- Represent the interests of the company in industry organizations.
- Provide advice as a thought partner subject matter and process expert in the field of social development and external stakeholder relations
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree level education with strong preference on JD and bar passers
- At least 12 years experience in social development with some business/ private sector, stakeholder engagement/ public relations and government relations
- Experience in effective networking, communicating and influencing, and advocating to top level executives, industry and government
- Experience of senior-level negotiations and conflict management
- Excellent network of contacts with government, NGOs, KOLs, private businesses
- Recognized solid project management and interrelation skills.
- Experience in building and implementing strategy
- Able to work under stress and stay calm in crisis situation, able to work fast
- Good level of knowledge and understanding of the use of information technology and media
