An IT Asset is responsible for the efficient management and oversight of an organization’s IT assets, encompassing hardware, software, and related equipment. This role ensures that IT assets are properly maintained, tracked, and optimized throughout their lifecycle, contributing to cost-effectiveness, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and receives all IT assets and performs storage management.
- Handles the re-stocking of overall IT inventory and manages returned IT assets in accordance with the re-use and disposal processes.
- Proactively seeks innovative ways to develop and implement procedures to identify and maintain adequate stock levels of IT equipment and supplies.
- Prepares IT equipment for configuration, deployment, and any business need in line with the IT asset policies.
- Monitors and maintains accurate and updated hardware and software information in the inventory database throughout the asset life cycle.
- Define metrics, data collection, and reporting on the effectiveness of IT asset management processes.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks and audits IT assets (hardware and software) based on the standard operating procedures.
- Participates in vendor and contract reviews and discussions and assists in sourcing possible vendors as needed by the IT department or the company.
- Performs and prioritizes tasks, activities, and projects given by the immediate superior and/or department head based on the business needs.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.
- Fresh graduates with a degree in a relevant field may be considered. No prior work experience may be required, but internships or part-time IT roles can be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of hardware and software components, including computers, servers, networking equipment, and software licenses is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including IT procurement, finance, and end-users.
- Team player mindset and the willingness to assist others in asset-related matters.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders
