Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally sensitive Japanese Interpreter/Translator to support our communications between Japanese-speaking clients/partners and our local team. The successful candidate will interpret spoken conversations and translate written materials accurately, maintaining the intended meaning, tone, and context.
Responsibilities
- Interpret live conversations (in-person or virtual) between Japanese and English speakers
- Translate documents, emails, reports, and other business communications from Japanese to English and vice versa
- Support Japanese-speaking guests, partners, or stakeholders during meetings, training, and events
- Ensure high-quality, context-appropriate translations that reflect cultural nuances
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information
- Work closely with internal departments as needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Japanese and English (JLPT N2 or N1 preferred)
- Proven experience in translation and interpretation (at least 1–2 years is a plus)
- Strong understanding of Japanese culture and business etiquette
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and handle sensitive or complex topics professionally
- Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language, Communication, or a related field (preferred but not required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Japanese nationals or in a Japanese company
- Knowledge of industry-specific terms (e.g., HR, tourism, finance, manufacturing)
- Tech-savvy: Able to use translation tools, conferencing platforms, and productivity apps
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php80,000.00 - Php100,000.00 per month
