Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Loader Operator is responsible and accountable for the safe and cost efficient operations of the Pay Loader in the attainment of the production target
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-start check-up / assessment of the unit before start of the engine
- Conduct post check-up /assessment of the unit after the shift
- Follow instruction of the immediate superior or superior in the working or mining areas
- Operate the equipment with utmost safety, care and cost efficient manner
- Provide written report at the end of the shift
- Follow traffic and road signs
- Familiarize digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application
- Operate machinery to perform activities such as backfilling excavations, vibrating or breaking rock or concrete.
- Create and maintain inclines and ramps, and handle slides, mud, and pit cleanings and maintenance
- Adjust dig face angles for varying overburden depths and set lengths
- Perform related functions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least high school graduate
- Possess 1, 2, 3 & 8 license restriction code
- At least one year experience in heavy equipment operations
- Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
