Reporting to Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic II is accountable and responsible for the repair, PMS schedules and systematic.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform major and minor repairs, PMS schedules and systematic trouble shooting of equipment undergoing preventive maintenance
2. Assist Lead Mechanic and Mechanic lll in the major engine overhaul of 'i equipment.
3. Perform overhauls of major components as follows:
a. Transmission (Main and Auxiliary)
b. Differential assembly (intermediate and rear)
c. Hydraulic system components (pump, control valves, cylinders i.e. packer, slide, tailgate and ejector
4. Do systematic trouble shooting of major components as mentioned above.
5. Brake system check-up to brake lining replacement, repair kits of valves and air brake master
6. Conduct clutch disc/pressure plate assembly (replacement, rear drivelines, bearings and proper alignment
7. Conduct Steering system check-up/repair to include alignment of front suspension, repair/overhaul of steering pump, gear box and other related parts
8. Conduct rear suspension repairs (bogie unit repairs including spring/bushing and torque rods
9. Conduct minor electrical failures i"e., replacement of bulbs/fuses and welding jobs.
10. Conduct other equipment related jobs as directed by the lead man/chief mechanic.
11. Record all service meter reading of all handled repairs for recording purposes
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Vocational course graduate
2. At least three (3) years work experience in heavy equipment
