Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs any combination of the following duties in care of patients in hospital, nursing, or other medical facilities, under the direction of nursing and medical staff: answers signal lights, bells, intercom system, and telephone calls to determine patient’s needs. Bathes, dresses and undresses patient. Accompanies, drapes patients for examinations and treatments and remains with patients performing such duties as holding instruments and adjusting lights.
- Turns and repositions patients, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores. Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers telephone calls.
- Endorses to the incoming Nursing Assistant/ Midwife-on-duty before the end of the shift.
- Conforms to hospital standards, policies and procedures.
- Performs other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of a Midwifery or Nursing Assistant program
- Registered Midwife, certified by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
- Holder of a National Certificate II (NC II) in Healthcare Services
