FUNCTION AND AUTHORITY:
A Pollution Control Officer is the one responsible in ensuring of environmental pollution control related operations and or projects with various technical functions and associated work are performed effectively to service objectives and to follow procedures, protocols and guidance on technical issues and services delivery matters towards service and work improvements.
The PCO has also the following Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Shall form part of the Legal compliance and Monitoring Team.
2. Shall be responsible in initially identifying legal requirements applicable to the organization.
3. Shall be responsible in ensuring that the legal and other requirements are complied.
4. Shall be responsible in evaluating the compliance of the organization to the mentioned requirements.
5. Shall be responsible in monitoring and measuring the environmental parameters of the key characteristics of the organization's environmental performance.
6. Reports to the top management as well as to the government agency the organization's environmental performance.
7. Communicates to the organization new or amended laws and regulations
8. Coordinates with the community or environmental concerns.
9. Attend to the requirements of the establishments or agency prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits and renewal thereof.
10. Monitoring activities pertaining to the installations or contraction of pollution source and control facilities with the end in view of ensuring their compliance eith the air, noise and water quality standards; the PCO and the head of the establishment shall be held responsible for any violations of PD 984 and its implementing rules and regulations committed by establishment the officer is employed.
11. Supervise the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilties of the establishment or agency.
12. Report within reasonable time to the Department of breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and control date of completion/repar and operations;
13. Promptly submit validated/certified as correct by the General Manager periodic reports as stipulated in section 7 hereof or as required by the department.
14. as a liaison officer with the department, he shall keep himself abreast with the requirements of the department and the latest availability technology on the prevention, control and abatement of pollution;
15. Maintain liason with the city/provincial/municipal or local pollution control officers;
16. attend the meeting for Pollution Control officers which may form time to time be called by the department;
17. Facilitate compliance of the establishment he represents with the requirements that may from time to time be prescribes by the departments; and
18. recommend to the management the installation and operation of additional equipment for pollution abatement facilities;
19. Handle other matters of environmental concern as required by the employer.

Pay: Php18,000.00 - Php20,000.00 per month
