Patient Care and Imaging Procedure
1. Verify patient identity using standard protocols (name and date of birth).
2. Explain procedures clearly to patients, addressing concerns and ensuring informed cooperation.
3. Obtain and document relevant medical history, including prior imaging and contraindications.
4. Prepare and position patients properly to achieve optimal imaging outcomes with minimal discomfort.
5. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures (X-rays) in accordance with physician orders and standard techniques.
6. Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and dignity during procedures.
B. Radiologic Equipment Operation and Maintenance
1. Operate a range of radiologic equipment including portable and stationary machines.
2. Perform pre-use equipment checks and ensure proper calibration.
3. Recognize and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate technical support when needed.
4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging areas and equipment.
5. Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self through the correct use of protective devices (e.g., lead aprons, shields).
C. Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
1. Follow protocols for radiation safety in accordance with DOH and international standards.
2. Assess image quality and repeat procedures when necessary to meet diagnostic requirements.
3. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with facility and national radiology standards.
4. Participate in audits, inspections, and quality control initiatives.
D. Records Management and Reporting
1. Input accurate patient information and exam data into the system.
2. Submit images and necessary documentation to radiologists and referring physicians in a timely manner.
3. Maintain daily logbooks, checklists, and reports on examinations performed.
4. Assist in the preparation of the “Doctor’s PF” and ensure completeness of documentation for billing or medical records.
E. Administrative Support and Logistics
1. Monitor inventory of X-ray consumables and request replenishment before stock runs out.
2. Organize schedules, patient flow, and manage coordination with front desk.
3. Assist in coordination during mobile or off-site imaging services, including equipment transport and setup.
4. Comply with data protection and confidentiality policies regarding patient information.
F. Collaboration and Professional Development
1. Coordinate closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
2. Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
3. Stay updated on new radiologic technologies, techniques, and continuing education credits.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
· Must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RRT) with a valid PRC License.
· At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
· Proficient in digital and analog radiography systems.
· Strong understanding of anatomy, imaging protocols, and diagnostic interpretation basics.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
