Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and credentialed Remote Sleep Technologist (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)) to join our growing telehealth sleep team. In this virtual role, the RPSGT will be responsible for remote setup, monitoring, scoring, and reporting of sleep studies performed in patients' homes. The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, autonomous, and passionate about delivering high-quality care in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remotely conduct and monitor Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT) and/or Type I attended sleep studies using cloud-based platforms.
- Provide virtual patient education and remote onboarding (via video call, phone, or secure messaging) to ensure proper test preparation and sensor application.
- Monitor live or recorded sleep studies remotely and score data in compliance with AASM standards.
- Identify and respond to issues or artifacts during remote monitoring and provide technical support to patients.
- Document and report clinical findings accurately using EMR and/or specialized sleep software.
- Communicate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and DME providers for CPAP titration, troubleshooting, and compliance monitoring.
- Support patients via telehealth follow-ups regarding test results, equipment setup, and therapy adherence (e.g., CPAP).
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of all records and communications.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and attend virtual team meetings and trainings.
Qualifications:
- Active RPSGT Certification from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) (required).
- Experience in remote scoring and virtual patient support (preferred).
- Familiarity with sleep study software such as Nox, Alice, NightOwl, WatchPAT, or ResMed AirView.
- Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant virtual environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to instruct non-clinical patients through remote tech support.
- High-speed internet, private home workspace, and comfort using video conferencing tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
- Tech-savvy and detail-oriented with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
