Job Summary
The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for managing all customer transactions efficiently and accurately. The role ensures excellent customer service by processing payments, handling inquiries, and assisting in front-of-house operations. The Cashier also supports daily sales reconciliation, maintains a clean and organized cashiering area, and coordinates with the service and kitchen teams to provide a smooth dining experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries related to menu items, pricing, or promotions.
- Process customer payments accurately (cash, credit/debit cards, e-wallets, or vouchers).
- Issue receipts, refunds, or change as necessary.
- Maintain and balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the POS (Point-of-Sale) system.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Handle customer complaints or refer them to the supervisor/manager when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station and dining area.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of cashier supplies (receipt rolls, cash envelopes, etc.).
- Prepare and submit daily sales reports to management.
- Support front-of-house team during peak hours as needed.
- Perform other related tasks assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor/Manager.
