Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Issue regular reports showing safety performance and accident trends.
- Review procedures for compliance with applicable laws, environmental regulations, and safety codes.
- Attend Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) committee meetings of the project.
- Secure and renew necessary work permits required for the project.
- Monitor safety standards and conduct audits of activities and facilities.
- Provide barricades and safety signage in all required construction areas.
- Ensure that the company has the capability and resources to operate safely at all times.
- Monitor and enforce proper housekeeping practices within the project site.
- Conduct safety orientation for newly hired employees.
- Facilitate toolbox meetings based on project requirements.
- Conduct monthly inspections of fire-fighting equipment, power tools, and other safety-related equipment.
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts, providing counseling on safe procedures and requirements.
- Assist in the investigation and documentation of serious/critical accidents and incidents at the construction site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the Safety Officer’s Manual and maintain complete, accurate safety records and reports.
- Act as Pollution Control Officer (PCO) for the project, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and DENR requirements.
Job Specifications:
- Must be a Bachelor’s/College Degree holder in any field.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in construction or related industries.
- Must have completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) / Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Training.
- Must be duly certified with Pollution Control Officer (PCO) Training.
