Job Summary:
The Sales Data Analyst is the commercial intelligence partner to Alaska Milk’s Sales, Distribution, and Key Account teams. This role transforms data into actionable trade strategies—ensuring our products are available, visible, and competitive in every store and channel. By combining market analytics, sales performance tracking, and distribution intelligence, the role directly supports revenue growth, market share gains, and strategic account partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Distribution Performance Tracking Monitor sell-in, sell-out, inventory, and product availability across all channels—Modern Trade, General Trade, and Distributor Networks. Identify distribution gaps and develop SKU placement strategies to improve numeric and weighted distribution. Track Perfect Store KPIs (availability, visibility, share of shelf, pricing compliance).
2. Key Account & Trade Strategy Support Partner with Key Account Managers to evaluate joint business plans (JBP) using real-time sales and market data. Provide data-backed recommendations on pricing, assortment, promotions, and display programs per account. Measure ROI of trade spend and recommend adjustments to maximize profitability.
3. Market, Shopper & Competitor Insights Combine Alaska Milk’s sales data with Nielsen Retail Audit, Kantar Panel, and in-store tracking to uncover shopper trends and category opportunities. Monitor competitor activities—pricing, promotions, new launches—and alert sales teams for fast counteractions. Support go-to-market plans for new products based on distribution readiness and trade acceptance.
4. Advanced Analytics & Forecasting Build predictive sales and inventory models to prevent stock-outs and reduce overstocks in distributor warehouses and key accounts. Support demand planning by aligning sell-in forecasts with sell-out realities. Highlight high-performing SKUs, slow movers, and potential delisting risks.
5. Capability Building Train Sales, Distribution, and Key Account teams to use dashboards and interpret insights for store-level execution. Create standard reporting templates for weekly business reviews (WBR) and monthly performance reviews (MPR). Key Deliverables / KPIs Accuracy and timeliness of Sales & Distribution Reports. Reduction in out-of-stock incidents in key accounts and distributor networks. Numeric and weighted distribution growth. ROI improvement on trade and promotional investments. Forecast accuracy improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, or Data Analytics.
- Atleast 2–3 years in sales analytics, trade marketing, or distribution operations within FMCG.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel (advanced), and data visualization tools; Familiarity with Nielsen, Kantar, and field audit methodologies.
- Strong analytical storytelling skills—can turn numbers into actionable business recommendations.
- Experience working with distributors, modern trade accounts, and field sales teams.
