About the Job
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant with solid experience in accounts receivable and collections, worked with ERP systems, and is familiar with alongside a U.S. GAAP. The ideal candidate is well versed in NetSuite ERP, having worked in accounting team in business with revenue $50M+, a fast learner, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will be pivotal in managing revenue cycle processes, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely cash flow, and working with the accounting team for monthly close.
Duties and responsibilities
- Works on accounts receivable and collections efforts, including customer outreach, aging report review, and escalation of past-due accounts.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collection and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with Sales and Customer Success teams.
- Maintain accurate AR sub-ledger and prepare regular collections reports and aging analysis for management.
- Assist in cash application, ensuring customer payments are properly recorded in NetSuite and bank reconciliations are accurate.
- Assist processing of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for monthend and year-end close in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Process and record accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reports, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules related to accounting
- Assist with other accounting functions such as accounts payable, expense reports, and fixed assets as needed.
- Leverage NetSuite ERP to generate reports, streamline workflows, and support system
- enhancements.
- Contribute to process improvements and help develop internal controls to support scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure proper coding and documentation of transactions.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant focus on collections and AR.
- Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is required or similar enterprise ERP systems.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue-related accounting.
- Having worked in multi-national businesses with revenue $50+M
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with a professional and customer-centric approach to collections.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic data analysis).
- Detail-oriented with strong time management and prioritization abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Proactive, fast learner
- Preferably CPA
Preferred:
- Familiarity with SaaS billing, recurring revenue models, or subscription accounting is a plus.
- Exposure to multi-entity or international accounting structures.
Working conditions
This role is a full-time salaried position. Work hours for this position are flexible and will be performed from a home office.
