Job Requirements – RX Lab Supervisor
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field (required).
- Master’s Degree (MBA or similar) is preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years in the optical industry, specifically in RX lab operations at a high-volume facility (2,000–3,000 lens pairs/day).
- Supervisory experience in a lab or manufacturing environment is mandatory.
Key Skills:
- Leadership: Ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
- Quality Control: Strong knowledge of QA processes and industry regulations.
- Technical Skills: Familiar with optical manufacturing and lab equipment.
- Problem Solving: Skilled in resolving operational issues quickly.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication.
- Project Management: Capable of handling multiple projects at once.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Knowledge of ISO standards, FDA regulations, or other relevant certifications.
- Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus.

Supervisor Duties – RX Lab (Optical Industry)
- Daily Operations
Oversee lab activities to ensure smooth, efficient production of optical lenses and products.
- Quality Control
Monitor product quality, enforce standards, and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Team Management
Train, supervise, and support lab staff while promoting a safe and positive work environment.
- Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to industry regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO) and support inspections and audits.
- R&D Support
Assist in developing new products and help move them from testing to production.
- Equipment Oversight
Maintain and upgrade lab equipment and ensure tools are up to date and functioning.
- Supply & Inventory
Manage supplier relationships and maintain proper inventory levels for smooth operations.
- Reporting
Create performance and quality reports; maintain accurate records for compliance.
- Special Assignments
Handle projects or urgent tasks as directed by senior management.
