Job Summary
We are a dynamic, growing retail business seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planning Analyst to oversee procurement, inventory planning, and demand forecasting. This role will forecast demand, optimize stock levels, and lead the transition to an online inventory tracking system using barcodes and SKUs with Lightspeed Retail POS. The ideal candidate is adept at leveraging inventory management software, data analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize costs.
- Forecast product demand based on historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal factors.
- Determine appropriate quantities and timing for purchasing products from suppliers.
- Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage ETAs for purchased items, including backorders, to ensure timely delivery.
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of stocking items versus special ordering, making data-driven decisions.
- Lead the implementation of an online inventory tracking system, including setup of barcodes and SKUs.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance in the inventory management system.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align inventory with business goals.
- Monitor inventory metrics, such as fill rates and turnover, and report to management.
- Use data tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SQL) to analyze data, draw insights, and recommend cost, stock, or process improvements to stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in inventory planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in retail.
- Proven experience with inventory management software and POS systems; familiarity with Lightspeed Retail POS is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong expertise in data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SQL) and statistical methods for demand forecasting and process optimization.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex datasets and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights to non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to work night shifts to support the company’s operational hours.
