Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor in coordination with the Tire On-site Support Service Provider, the Tireman is accountable and responsible for the repair, maintenance, replacement, rotation of all mobile heavy and support equipment tires.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct repair and maintenance of all tires, inner tubes and other tire accessories including rims.
2. Assemble and replace damaged tires due for relug or worn out tires.
3. Remove and install tires and inner tubes replacement.
4. Conduct inspection and check-up of loose wheel stud bolts and nuts and initiate appropriate action to be done.
5. Ensure wheel clocks are properly placed on the parked equipment before performing tire repair or replacement.
6. Perform inflation checks on all tires mounted to units and the standard air pressure required based on manufacturer’s recommendation.
7. Always clean rims, bead seat bands, flanges and o-ring grooves prior to tire mounting.
8. Perform proper matching of dual tires and rotate tires with uneven tread wear including alignment.
9. Check the condition and capacity of hydraulic jack to be used prior to performing the tire repair including the appropriate tools, air compressor, and power utility.
10. Measure thread heights of tires, periodically and submit said measurements for wear rate analysis and performance report.
11. Monitor all tires abnormal wear & performs corrective & preventive measures to avoid extended damage to the tires.
12. Adhere to safety and environment policy and procedure including proper housekeeping and disposal of damaged tires beyond repair.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by his immediate superior from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. High School or Vocational/Trade school graduate would be an advantage
2. At least one (1) year of related experience in heavy equipment tire repairs.
3. Can operate tire handler or forklift desirable
