Verification of Benefits (VOB) Specialist

The Verification of Benefits (VOB) Specialist plays a critical role in Value Care Associates’ revenue cycle by ensuring that providers and patients have accurate, up-to-date information regarding insurance coverage and benefits. This role supports efficient claims processing, reduces denials, and provides clarity to clinics and patients prior to care being delivered.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. They will work closely with credentialing, billing, and provider support teams to streamline benefit verification and help ensure successful reimbursement for our network providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits through payer portals, phone calls, and clearinghouse tools.
- Document verified benefits accurately in AdvancedMD and internal systems, following VCA protocols.
- Interpret insurance information including copays, deductibles, coinsurance, visit limits, exclusions, and prior authorization requirements.
- Identify potential issues that may impact claims processing, such as coordination of benefits, coverage gaps, or incorrect policy details.
- Communicate findings clearly and timely to providers, front-desk staff, and billing teams.
- Assist with payer follow-ups on incomplete or delayed verifications.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality in all communications.
- Track and report on VOB turnaround times and accuracy as part of VCA’s KPI monitoring.
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce delays in verification.
Home Office Requirements
- Internet Connection: Must be 30 Mbps at the least, preferably wired connection with PLDT, Cable connection is fine if it's more than 10 Mbps. We DO NOT accept plug-ins, wi-fi or Wimax.
- Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a good working computer.
- Headsets: The Contractor must have noise-canceling headsets preferably Plantronics Blackwire C320M headsets. Assessment will be done during test calls.
- Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
- Webcam - for meeting purposes
- Must be comfortable in working with Time Doctor/Screenshot Monitor
- Has a dual-monitor setup
