Position Description
We are seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) freelance contractor to work with one of our clients. As a Website Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the front-end user experience of an e-commerce website built on Magento. You will coordinate with backend developers, support marketing initiatives, and ensure the site is secure, fast, visually consistent, and conversion-optimized. The ideal candidate brings experience in website project management, UX/UI design implementation, and hands-on front-end web development within Magento or similar platforms.
About the work
- Manage and maintain the front-end of a Magento-based e-commerce site
- Collaborate with back-end developers to implement updates and resolve technical issues
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Troubleshoot and resolve UX bugs and performance issues
- Implement responsive design and optimize front-end load speeds
- Customize and manage themes, templates, and UI elements
- Work with marketing and design teams to publish banners, promotions, and landing pages
- Implement and support SEO efforts through optimized HTML structure and metadata
- Manage seasonal content updates and website campaigns
- Oversee front-end QA and testing of all new features
- Monitor and report on UX performance, engagement metrics, and security
Boxes to check
- 5+ years experience managing front-end website operations, preferably in Magento
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery; strong front-end dev skills
- Understanding of Magento theming and templating structure
- Experience working with APIs and resolving integration issues
- Comfortable with responsive/mobile-first design
- Familiarity with Basecamp or similar project tracking tools
- Experience in A/B testing and conversion rate optimization
- Knowledge of Git/version control and browser compatibility testing
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams
- Nice to have: Sass/LESS, React or Vue.js experience, Photoshop or Sketch familiarity, SEO expertise
About the role
- Full-time (40 hours per week) at $16/hr
- Night shifts (EST HOURS) with fixed weekends off
