The Woodworking Manager oversees all woodworking operations, including production planning, project execution, quality control, and team management. This role ensures that all woodwork products meet design specifications, safety standards, and deadlines while optimizing material usage and minimizing waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise woodworking production activities.
- Manage a team of woodworkers, carpenters, cabinet makers, and machine operators.
- Interpret technical drawings and ensure products are built to specification.
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and quality control.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials, tools, and equipment; coordinate procurement as needed.
- Schedule maintenance of woodworking machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement cost-saving and waste-reduction measures.
- Train and develop woodworking staff to improve skills and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with design, sales, and project management teams for smooth project flow.
- Prepare reports on production output, efficiency, and materials usage.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in woodworking, cabinet making, or carpentry, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, machinery, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of production planning and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and quality control processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
