Job Overview
The Accounting Officer is responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining compliance with Philippine tax regulations. Core duties include handling accounts payable and receivable, tax filings, invoice generation, check processing, and supporting audits and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process and verify supplier invoices.
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain purchase orders (POs), contracts, and payment schedules.
- Enforce compliance with company policies.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Generate and issue customer invoices.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile accounts and prepare aging reports.
- Ensure accurate recording of collections.
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT, withholding, and income tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws.
- Assist in audits and maintain proper documentation.
- Stay updated on tax regulations.
Invoice & Check Preparation
- Issue accurate invoices with correct pricing and terms.
- Prepare checks for disbursements and reimbursements.
- Verify supporting documents and maintain payment records.
- Coordinate check-related matters with banks.
Other Duties
- Assist in preparing financial reports (balance sheet, income statement, etc.).
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in AP, AR, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Audit experience is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Familiarity with GAAP/IFRS and ERP systems.

- Detail-oriented and analytical.

- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
