Job Position Summary
Primary function of this job is to process crew payroll and payables and to ensure accuracy of transactions through verification of supporting documents, ascertain proper level of authorization, make payments and record expenses in a timely manner.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Verifying and processing payments, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance to company policies
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and organized records of all financial transactions and documentation related to crew payments, accounts payable and proper charging to specific vessels and accounts
- Checks and monitor all accounts by reconciling monthly payments
- Monitoring of receivables from crew and ensure timely recovery
- Maintains and updates Master data file
- Assist in handling inquiries, payment issues, and resolution.
- Assist Accounts Payable related projects, as required
- Assist in the annual statutory audit and tax compliance process
- Reconciling payable balances and contributing to month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Contribute to the refinement of process, procedures, and systems to continuously improve the efficiency and internal control of accounting activities
- Performing other ad hoc tasks as required
Relationship:
INTERNAL:
- All internal departments like FPD, Training, Vessel Accounting, etc.
EXTERNAL:
- Suppliers, Vessel Crew, Financial Auditors for yearend audits and BIR Examiners for Letter of Authority (LOA) received, if any.
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance related fields
- At least 2 years of experience working in accounting is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP like Eyeshare, Oracle, SAP, etc. is preferred
- Experience in the Ship Management / Shipping Industry is an added advantage.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Suite like Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Good command of written and spoken English
