Your Role as an AP/AR Team Lead
As an AP/AR Team Lead, you’ll be supporting one of our awesome clients. You won’t just be crunching numbers. You’ll be leading the charge in making sure our Accounts Payable and Receivable operations flow like clockwork. With a small but mighty team by your side, you'll ensure our payments go out on time, our receivables come in, and our reports are always on point. Think leadership, strategy, and spreadsheets rolled into one.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Lead and oversee the full AP cycle including invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs (local and international)
- Ensure 3-way matching and accurate supplier bank account verification
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and address discrepancies
- Manage AP aging reports and resolve escalated payment inquiries
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Supervise timely billing, collections, and cash application
- Monitor AR aging reports and lead collection efforts
- Manage reconciliation of customer accounts and AR sub-ledger
- Coordinate Coles shortfall calculation and assist with BI sales reports
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of 4 finance professionals (AP & AR Officers)
- Conduct regular one-on-one and team check-ins to align goals and performance
- Foster a culture of accountability, feedback, and continuous learning
- Promote open communication and best practices within the team
Finance Operations & Reporting:
- Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure top-tier performance
- Support GL and bank reconciliations and handle occasional ad hoc finance tasks
- Document and optimize finance workflows and internal controls for efficiency
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders to resolve concerns
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, and leadership teams on reporting and strategy
Requirements
- A degree in Accountancy or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a similar finance role with proven leadership chops
- In-depth knowledge of AP and AR processes in high-volume settings
- Reconciliation ninja skills and a sixth sense for data accuracy
- Top-notch time management and problem-solving ability
- Communication skills that make finance sound human
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, not just formatting!)
- Bonus points if you’ve worked with SAP B1
- A process-minded approach to documenting and improving finance workflows
