Your Role as AR/AP Officer
As an AR/AP Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our amazing Australian client by managing both supplier and customer transactions. The position is split approximately 60/40—60% focused on Accounts Payable and 40% on Accounts Receivable. Whether you have experience on the AP or AR side, this role offers a smooth transition and a great opportunity to strengthen your all-around finance skills.
You’ll be handling tasks such as entering accurate data into our accounting systems, reconciling transport-related invoices, and making sure that all supplier and customer records are clean, compliant, and up to date. If you're someone who thrives on accuracy, loves working with numbers, and has a strong eye for detail, you’ll feel right at home in this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process supplier invoices in the approved accounting systems (ApprovalMax and Xero)
- Process customer invoices in the approved systems (CargoWise and Xero)
- Review and approve supplier invoices based on agreed terms
- Review and approve customer invoices using contract rate cards
- Reconcile invoices for transportation services using Machship
- Enter and interpret customer/supplier data accurately using Excel
- Distribute payment statements and respond to queries regarding compensation, taxes, benefits, and deductions
- Maintain accuracy in all financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal policies
Requirements
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy
- Intermediate Excel skills (you can read and interpret data, no fancy formulas needed!)
- Excellent attention to detail—accuracy is the key to your success in this role
- Strong reconciliation skills and familiarity with invoice processing
- Solid communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential data with integrity
- Willingness to undergo training for tools such as Machship, Xero, ApprovalMax, and CargoWise
