The Avionics Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft electrical and electronic systems. This role ensures all avionics systems meet regulatory and safety standards and function efficiently to support flight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, test, and repair avionics systems including navigation, communication, radar, and flight control systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Perform system calibrations and software updates as required.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Document all maintenance actions and complete logs and reports accurately.
- Collaborate with engineers, pilots, and other technicians to assess and fix complex system issues.
- Conduct routine and scheduled maintenance checks on aircraft systems.
- Replace defective components such as circuit boards, wiring, and connectors.
- Stay current with new avionics technology, tools, and regulatory changes.
