Job Summary:
The Sales Manager in the Bancassurance channel is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the overall performance and strategic direction of a team of Financial Advisors, including Executive-level advisors. This role is pivotal in delivering regional sales growth, strengthening partnerships with bank stakeholders, and ensuring high standards of compliance and execution. Unlike Executive Financial Advisors who focus on elite client portfolios, the Sales Manager is accountable for team leadership, business development strategy, and sales governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Target Achievement
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Financial Advisors—including Executive and Senior levels—to exceed sales targets.
- Design and implement localized sales strategies aligned with regional goals and market conditions.
- Drive the achievement of individual and team sales targets and monitor daily sales performance and implement action plans to address gaps.
- Ensure product mix and persistency targets are met.
Bank Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with bank branch heads and staff.
- Conduct regular business reviews with branch partners to align sales strategies
- Strengthen relationships with bank branch heads and key bank executives to drive synergy and lead generation.
- Collaborate with bank stakeholders to align on joint business objectives and sales campaigns.
- Monitor in-branch execution and elevate engagement between advisors and bank personnel.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and manage a team of Financial Advisors (FAs) assigned to bank branches
- Conduct regular coaching and mentoring sessions to improve FA productivity and morale. Ensure that all FAs are properly trained and compliant with regulatory and company requirements
- Identify, mentor, and promote high-potential talent within the team.
- Lead training initiatives, performance reviews, and career development planning for advisors.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor and manage day-to-day sales operations within assigned branches.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports and documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and internal compliance policies.
- Oversee reporting, performance analytics, and territory planning.
- Resolve escalated client issues, reputational risks, or operational bottlenecks.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure adherence to insurance regulations and company policies by the team.
- Oversee ethical selling practices and responsible advice to clients.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Productivity per FA and per branch
- FA activity management (e.g., leads, client calls, presentations, closing etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in financial services or insurance, including 3+ years in a team leadership or sales management role.
- Demonstrated success in managing high-performing advisory teams in a bancassurance or channel-driven environment.
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and people leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
