About the role
The Sales Support Manager plays a key enabling role within the Before Sales team. This position is responsible for equipping the sales team with the tools, insights, materials, and processes needed to convert leads into high-quality solar and battery installations. The Sales Support Manager ensures that sales operations are optimized through effective use of automation, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration with marketing, IT, branding, and after-sales teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Enablement & Strategy
- Develop and maintain sales scripts, objection handling guides, and pitch materials.
- Build sales playbooks and support resources for grant programs, ROI pitching, and product configurations.
- Support onboarding and continuous training of sales agents with structured learning materials.
Sales Process Optimization
- Collaborate with the IT Center to automate CRM workflows (e.g., lead routing, site inspection scheduling).
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive system-based solutions for faster and smarter selling.
- Monitor and improve sales funnel conversion through reporting and process tweaks.
Data & Reporting
- Build and manage dashboards showing sales trends, objection rates, lead quality, and product uptake.
- Partner with the Sales Manager to use analytics for coaching, incentive plans, and sales forecasting.
- Provide actionable insights to optimize lead handling and campaign execution.
Campaign & Promo Support
- Work with Branding Center to ensure internal sales materials match public-facing offers.
- Prepare internal FAQs, promo breakdowns, and playbooks to support time-sensitive campaigns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- IT to enhance automation and CRM usability
- Branding to ensure consistency of tone and presentation, and relay lead quality feedback and optimize targeting
- After Sales to align on deliverability and customer handoff expectations
Qualification
- Qualifications (Education, experience, skills, certifications, etc.)
- 5+ years in sales support, sales operations, or revenue enablement (experience in tech or renewable energy a plus)
- Strong background in CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
- Data-driven mindset with solid Excel/Google Sheets or dashboarding experience (Looker, Power BI)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Experience developing training materials and customer-facing content is a plus
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
