Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
- Prepare and deliver lectures, activities, and assessments for tourism-related subjects such as:
- Tourism Planning and Development
- Sustainable Tourism
- Tourism and Hospitality Marketing
- Tour and Travel Operations
- Events Management
- Philippine and Global Tourism Geography
- Use modern teaching strategies including blended and experiential learning.
- Curriculum Development
- Assist in designing, updating, and enhancing the BS Tourism curriculum to align with CHED standards and industry trends.
- Collaborate with colleagues in creating course materials and outcomes-based syllabi.
- Student Advising and Mentoring
- Provide academic advising, career guidance, and support to students.
- Supervise student research, on-the-job training (OJT), and special projects.
- Research and Professional Development
- Engage in academic research, publication, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences for professional growth.
- Community Extension and Industry Linkages
- Participate in community extension programs and outreach activities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with tourism stakeholders, agencies, and organizations for student internships and career opportunities.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate student records and submit timely reports.
- Participate in department meetings, accreditation processes, and institutional events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or relevant discipline (preferred or required by CHED)
- LET passer or holder of relevant teaching license (if applicable)
- Teaching experience at the tertiary level (preferred)
- Industry experience in tourism, travel, or events (an advantage)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in educational technology and learning management systems
