About the role:
As a Business Analyst on our modernization engagement, you will translate legacy JSF/Java-Bean applications into a modern React single-page application with Java APIs. You’ll perform bottom-up code analysis, extract and document business logic and workflows, and partner with both technical teams and clients to validate requirements, drive design decisions, and support test planning and execution.
What will you be doing?
As the key technical lead, you will collaborate with our partner account managers throughout the sales lifecycle of our Elements/Channel business. In this consultative role, you will help close new deals by delivering technical presentations of AvePoint solutions and providing pre-sales support to both prospective and returning partners and customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Requirements Elicitation & Reverse Engineering
- Analyse JSF XHTML pages, Java Beans, and portlet configurations to uncover core business rules, and complex control flows.
- Produce a detailed System Requirement Specification (SRS).
- Design Considerations & Documentation
- Document any functional deviations or optimizations (e.g., streamlined navigation, component decomposition) in a Design Specification.
- Client Workshops & Reviews
- Lead walkthrough sessions on high-complexity screens analysis.
- Incorporate client feedback and ensure alignment before finalising requirement and design artifacts.
- Test Suite Development & Execution
- Author comprehensive System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans derived from the SRS.
- Coordinate or perform test execution, log defects, and verify fixes in collaboration with development teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Java and React developers during debugging.
- Act as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment.
OK, I'm interested... is this the job for me?
We look for people who value agility, passion and teamwork; those who can bring fresh ideas to the table and want the opportunity to learn, grow, and expand their careers. Bring your aptitude and build upon what you do best for our customers, partners, team, and you.
Other qualities you will need to be a fit for this role include:
- 1–3 years of Java development, & optional basic HTML understanding
- Comfortable reading Java classes/methods and well-formed XHTML markup; familiar with AJAX-driven interactions and event-based (pub-sub) patterns in web UIs.
- Ability to author clear Requirement Specifications and translate them into executable SIT/UAT test suites.
- Strong workshop-facilitation skills with both technical teams and business users; excellent written and verbal communication to present complex logic succinctly.
- Familiarity with React + TypeScript component patterns.
- Understanding of RESTful services, API-gateway basics (e.g., IBM API Connect), and how front-ends invoke back-end endpoints.
- Exposure to hosting static assets on AWS S3—enough to understand deployment artifacts and environments.
- Amenable to work fully at the office, client side in BGC, Taguig
