The Business Analyst will be an integral part of our Transformation and Strategy Team, focusing on business and productivity analyses, process documentation, research, and organizational studies. The primary responsibilities include making recommendations to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, simplifying existing processes, and relevant and accurate reporting and analysis to facilitate decision-making on assigned initiatives. The role involves strong communication skills, internal reporting, and a dedication to continuous learning.
- Conduct research studies to enhance productivity by optimizing the use of application systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project execution aligns with defined objectives, timelines, and quality standards. Support vendor management and knowledge management initiatives.
- Provide data and information to business/corporate units, aiding in appropriate decision-making. Utilize complex financial models that incorporate all relevant metrics and business drivers to assist in developing priorities within business units and across the company.
- Participate in developing business automation request requirements for new or existing system designs.
- Evaluate and critique software packages and emerging technologies for business applicability. Analyze and incorporate new technologies into existing or future systems in collaboration with business/corporate units and IT.
- Prepare project budgets and conduct cost/benefit analyses, as requested.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate work processes and standard operating procedures effectively, maximizing overall benefits.
- Develop, write, publish, and maintain standard operating procedures/process flows and documentation.
- Participate in planning and conducting pilots and contribute to the development of training programs.
- Take ownership of progress tracking, internal reporting processes, and preparation of presentations and documentation for assigned projects.
- Represent Crawford at meetings with customers, vendors, and outside consultants as needed.
- Keep the Manager informed verbally and in writing about activities and problems within the assigned area of responsibility. Refer matters beyond limits of authority and expertise to the Manager for direction.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is also considered.
- One to three years of professional experience providing a working knowledge of applied business analysis concepts.
- Experience with reporting methods, general business practices, and procedures.
- Exposure to supporting project execution and data-driven solutions.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
- Demonstrates ability to manage projects involving planning, coordinating, and controlling.
- Working knowledge of project techniques and software is desirable.
- Proficiency in business process engineering, data management, and analytics.
- Demonstrates sound skills in fact gathering, defining objectives, and determining alternatives.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop hypotheses, and make sound recommendations.
- Demonstrates effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and convey complex information clearly and persuasively (including formal presentations) and to respond to questions from all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of technology and how to relate business needs in data processing terms.
- Proficiency in developing financial models.
