Cashiers also play a role in customer service, answering questions, resolving issues, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: Scanning items, calculating costs, processing payments, and providing change and receipts.
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Cash Handling: Managing cash registers, balancing drawers, and accurately accounting for transactions.
- Maintaining the Checkout Area: Keeping the area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Other Duties: May include tasks like bagging purchases, handling returns and exchanges, and assisting with other store operations.
- Upselling and Cross-selling: Suggesting additional products or services to customers.
