CCMS IMPLEMENTATION CONSULTANT POSITION
Position Description
You will be a team member of an organization that is a world leading provider of on-premise and cloud-based products for authoring technical publications, e-learning and pharmaceutical information.
Our tools are used by some of the world’s largest organizations to enable reuse, reassembly and multiformat consumption of mission critical content. Our software platforms, enable the transformation of how our customers create and manage their content, leveraging a component first approach where content is broken down, easily assembled into documents, and reused across their organization.
The Implementation Consultant will be our resident expert on the Life Sciences solution and client use cases; stay current on software releases and industry best practices for component-based authoring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze client’s information and documentation processes for authoring, managing, localizing, publishing, and distributing of content. Use proven industry methods for your analysis; apply best practices for the implementation of the Life Sciences solution.
- Conduct prototyping sessions to present the proposed future state and perform configuration activities based on the agreed requirements for functional configurations, such as user setup, permissions, workflow, templates, stylesheets, and metadata.
- Perform offsite analysis and conduct discovery and analysis workshops to scope out and design the ideal future state in collaboration with the client’s Core Team; help clients navigate the solution and steer them in a direction that utilizes the product as intended.
- Develop training materials and train your clients in a classroom situation or via a web session on the final, configured solution.
- Be a team player who works side by side with other project team members to collaborate on the solution design and implementation; keep your task status up to date and help enable the project team to meet milestones on time.
- Provide input to business requirement summaries, SOWs, and project plan.
- You show your passion for the company and our services and solutions; convey this enthusiasm through your interactions with our clients.
- Provide cross-functional support to Customer Success Managers, Technical Analysts, Product Managers, and other departments to which you interact.
- Your ultimate motivational driver is to make your client successful in their day-to-day operations using company Life Sciences solutions.
Experience and Knowledge
- 1+ years practical experience in using Author-it products preferred, alternatively experience with a well- known Component Content Management System (CCMS), covering familiarity with documentation processes from authoring to managing, localizing, and publishing content.
- 2+ years practical experience in providing professional services for a SaaS based software product.
- 2+ years practical experience in the use of Application Programming Interface (API).
- 3+ years practical experience in the Life Science industry advantageous.
- 3+ years of hands-on work experience in an enterprise application software/ SaaS company in an IT support or professional services role, preferably in the Life Sciences industry.
- Exposure to Document Management Systems such as OpenText, Documentum D2, Veeva Systems, etc. is highly desirable.
- 2+ years practical experience with project management.
- Competency in professional services activities, such as presentations, requirements workshops, configuration activities, testing, and support.
- Competence in writing documentation–user manuals, help systems, knowledge bases, requirements documents, test scripts.
- Competence in delivery of training (remote via web-meeting and on-site).
- Competence in Microsoft Office, web technologies: HTML, CSS, JSON, XML, XSLT, Adobe PDF, structuring content (e.g., content architecture/strategies, SCORM, S1000, or DITA).

Certifications or Qualifications
- College or university degree is desired.
- Author-It or similar software preferred.
