About the Role
Role Summary:
The Company Nurse ensures the health and safety of all employees by providing immediate medical care, implementing occupational health programs, and promoting wellness in the workplace. In the fast-paced environment of the food and beverage industry, this role plays a critical part in minimizing health risks and maintaining regulatory compliance in food handling operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid treatment and emergency medical care to employees during work-related incidents or health complaints.
- Conduct regular health assessments to ensure employee fitness, especially for food handlers.
- Monitor employees for signs of illness or conditions that could compromise food safety and take appropriate action.
- Maintain and secure up-to-date medical records and daily clinic logs in compliance with DOLE and company policies.
- Facilitate pre-employment medical exams, annual physical exams, and return-to-work clearances.
- Support and participate in food safety audits by ensuring medical compliance among staff (e.g., health cards, medical clearance).
- Monitor and manage clinic supplies, medicines, and emergency kits across branches or stores.
- Organize health education campaigns and wellness activities (e.g., hygiene talks, stress management seminars, vaccination drives).
- Coordinate with HR for employees on sick leave, referrals, or work-related illness and injury claims (SSS, ECC, etc.).
- Assist with DOLE health and safety documentation and ensure alignment with food industry standards.
- Report potential workplace hazards and recommend preventive actions in coordination with the Safety Officer.

Person Specification:
- Essential
- Registered Nurse (PRC licensed)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial, clinical, or F&B setting
- Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) for Nurses (or willingness to attend training)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to respond promptly in emergencies and maintain composure under pressure
- Familiarity with DOLE, SSS, and ECC medical documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical reporting tools
- Desirable:
- Experience working in a foodservice or quick service restaurant (QSR) environment
- Training in food hygiene or sanitation
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Background in employee wellness programs or mental health support initiatives
- Knowledge of LGU health permit requirements and food handler certifications
