The purpose of this role is to ensure QBE's tax compliance and reporting obligations are met for all applicable taxes in different jurisdictions. This includes assisting with tax audits, providing ad-hoc tax advisory to the business, and focusing on high complexity and urgent tasks. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the Company remains compliant with reporting and compliance requirements from regulatory bodies..
Responsibilities:
- Timely preparation of accurate tax returns with supporting calculations/schedules that have been properly reconciled with accounting records.
- Ensure training and knowledge are up to date.
- Recommend changes to procedures to improve the management of taxation and compliance risks.
- Prepare analysis to support management decisions on tax planning and strategy.
- Provide guidelines to internal stakeholders on proper tax treatment of transactions.
- Supervise others in completing process tasks and review the accuracy of inputs to the relevant tax balances.
- Act as 1st level reviewer role on various tax and/or preparer roles on highly complex/urgent tasks.
- Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve tax reporting, tax control and any tax-related matter in the course of the service delivery.
- Ensure that all processes conducted are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion.
- Close coordination with various business units for documents/information needed to complete the reports/operational compliances.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
- Some relevant work experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Call centre experience in insurance and/or banking industry with billing responsibilities.
- Increasing level of responsibility in call centre environment.
- Policy administration experience.
- Experience in BPO industry with shifting schedules.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Certifications as an accountant.
