Duties and Responsibilities:
Pick up and deliver packages and documents to designated locations within a timely manner. Obtain signatures and payments from recipients, when necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery logs and records. Ensure the safe and secure transport of all deliveries.
Courier’s job is to ensure items get to the designated drop point quickly and in good condition. Common Courier job duties and responsibilities include:
- Picking up packages from the sender
- Delivering packages to the recipient
- Taking responsibility for high-value or confidential items
- Accepting payments for the items
- Filling out paperwork about completed deliveries
- Getting signatures from recipients upon delivery
- Answering questions and providing customer service
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License: A clean driving record is essential.
- Driving Experience: Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is often preferred.
- Customer Service Skills: The ability to interact positively with customers is important.
- Navigation Skills: The ability to read maps, use GPS, and find locations efficiently.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to lift and carry packages, and to get in and out of the vehicle repeatedly.
- Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers.
