D&IT Data Team Manager

The D&IT Data Team Manager role is accountable and responsible for delivery and support of efficient and scalable Data projects. You will ensure the efficient and qualitative development support for relevant regional applications and projects with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Bricks, Azure SQL,SSIS and Synapse technologies. You will analyze, organize and combine raw data from different sources and build the corresponding data systems and pipelines to ensure that business needs and objectives are met with the data delivered. You will explore new ways to enhance data quality and reliability with the aim to provide most optimal data assets for Data Analyst and Data Scientists to consume. He/she also coordinates the solution delivery by reviewing and monitoring the development efforts, project plans and assignments.

As a D&IT Data Team Manager, you will

• Design and develop data pipelines for projects, ensuring they are highly available, scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective, while collaborating with GTC, EA, and IT Security teams to meet technical and security requirements. This involves designing and documenting application topologies, recommending technologies, and defining delivery methodologies. Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to estimate resources, budget, and risks, while writing unit/integration tests, contributing to engineering documentation, and delivering development up to the UAT phase, addressing bugs, and ensuring smooth rollouts and deployments. Additionally, maintain data pipelines, conduct performance testing, and manage CI/CD processes for seamless development and deployment
• The Data Platform optimization and support role involves providing, reviewing, and confirming technical solutions while identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements such as automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for scalability. It ensures swift adoption of new Microsoft data platform features, creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture to guarantee accurate and accessible production data for stakeholders, and proactively monitors pipelines to maintain high service availability. Responsibilities also include investigating and resolving incidents, change requests, and problems through ServiceNow, as well as regularly updating technical specifications documentation
• Oversee internal development team activities for various projects, including tasks such as conducting code and peer reviews, communicating requirements with relevant stakeholders, verifying technical analyses and estimations, and managing development planning. Distribute workloads effectively to maximize team performance, coordinate efficient resource utilization, and oversee the onboarding of new team members for upcoming projects. Ensure proper implementation of unit testing and environment migration processes, and conduct lessons learned analyses with the team to drive continuous improvement after project completion
Provide data analysis and quality support for applications, projects, and enhancements by ensuring alignment with governance policies, global definitions, mapping, and business validation rules. Define data quality requirements, including relevant attributes, rules, and KPIs, for initiatives while delivering improvements and reporting. Additionally, facilitate and oversee JTI’s Data Quality strategy within the areas of responsibility to ensure consistent and effective data management

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Data and Analytics from modelling and reporting standpoint
• 5+ years of experience in people management
• 5+ exposure to IT architecture and solutioning for data flows among system and applications
• 3+ years delivering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform with a special emphasis on data solutions and service
• Experience in Databricks, DEVOPS CI/CD and Data project management is a must
• Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting skill
