Key Responsibilities:
· Transportation and Delivery Operations
o Deliver hardware items, auto parts, and store materials to customers, suppliers, and internal locations safely and on time.
o Pick up supplies, returns, or other documents/materials as instructed.
· Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
o Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
o Ensure vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
· Loading and Unloading Support
o Safely load and unload items, using proper lifting techniques and stacking procedures to avoid damage.
· Route and Time Management
o Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to minimize fuel usage and reduce delays.
o Communicate with supervisor in case of route issues or emergencies.
· Customer Service and Verification
o Courteously interact with customers, validate delivery orders, and collect payment or signatures as required.
o Address basic customer inquiries professionally.
· Compliance and Safety
o Follow traffic rules and company safety guidelines.
o Report violations, accidents, or incidents immediately.
· Documentation and Reporting
o Maintain delivery logs, fuel and mileage records, and submit signed delivery receipts.
o Report vehicle or delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies.
· Support Duties
o When idle, assist as needed in other hardware tasks (e.g., bagging, stocking) or support warehouse operations.
III. Qualifications:
· Education: High School Graduate or College Level
· License: Valid Professional Driver’s License (with restrictions appropriate for vehicle type; CDL preferred for large trucks)
· Experience: At least 2–3 years of driving experience in hardware, construction, logistics, or retail delivery operations
o Clean driving record with no major violations
· Additional Requirements:
o Familiarity with local traffic routes and GPS systems
o Willingness to perform occasional non-driving tasks when needed
