Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our plastic injection molding manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems related to injection molding machinery and support equipment. This role is critical to ensuring uptime, machine reliability, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on injection molding machines (e.g., hydraulic, electric).
- Diagnose faults in equipment such as temperature controllers, sensors, PLCs, motors, and servo systems.
- Support machine installation, setup, and commissioning of molding equipment and auxiliary systems (e.g., dryers, chillers, conveyors).
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation specific to molding equipment.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other applicable electrical safety codes and company standards.
- Document all maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and parts usage accurately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures.
Licensing:
- Must be a Licensed Registered Master Electrician (RME) by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
- TESDA NC II or NC III in Electrical Installation and Maintenance is an advantage for entry-level or assistant roles.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an electrical technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Experience with plastic injection molding machines (e.g., Engel, Arburg, Toshiba, Haitian, Milacron) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase power, control circuits, and grounding systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), VFDs, HMIs, and relay logic.
- Familiarity with thermocouple circuits, mold heaters, safety interlocks, and robotic interfaces.
- Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams quickly and accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in high-temperature and noisy environments typical of molding operations.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with predictive maintenance tools (e.g., thermal imaging, vibration analysis).
- Knowledge of cleanroom or ISO manufacturing standards (if applicable).
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
