An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing immediate medical care and transportation for critically ill or injured individuals in emergency situations. EMTs respond to emergency calls, assess patient conditions, administer basic life support (BLS), and transport patients safely to healthcare facilities. They work under the supervision of higher-level medical personnel such as paramedics, nurses, or physicians.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); completion of an accredited EMT training program.
- Certified as an EMT by a recognized institution (e.g., DOH-accredited in the Philippines or NREMT in the U.S.).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license (may be required for ambulance operation).
- Experience in emergency response, ambulance operations, or pre-hospital care is an advantage
