Position: Environmental Management Specialist
Qualifications:
- Degree in Environmental Science or a related field (e.g., Biology, Ecology, Forestry, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in the mining industry
- Preferably proficient in a local dialect spoken in Northern Luzon, especially Ilocano
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of environmental initiatives outlined in the Environmental Work Program (EWP) submitted to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB)
- Lead the development and implementation of key environmental programs such as EWP, EPEP/AEPEP, and FMRDP
- Conduct baseline environmental assessments including land, water, air quality, and biodiversity studies
- Facilitate Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities on environmental management in accordance with the Community Development Program
- Manage the progressive rehabilitation of areas affected by exploration, maintain nurseries, organize tree-planting activities, and ensure proper waste disposal
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to relevant government agencies, including DENR-MGB and DENR-EMB
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and mining laws, both local and international
- Assist in the execution of community development initiatives
