Oversee the operations of all telecom facilities nation-wide where applicable - critical rooms with power, cooling, and building systems including remote monitoring and security systems devices to ensure they run efficiently, safely and cost-effectively. Also responsible for achieving excellence in critical environment maintenance management programs all across, ensuring highest standards delivered and best practices implemented.
Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure that engineering staff is qualified and trained to perform the duties they are expected to carry out
- Develop and sustain a well motivated, nation-wide team
- Lead by example and groom the team in building & maintaining high-quality telecom facilities
- Provide technical advice and guidance for service delivery team
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of programs and procedures
- Review the maintenance/service practices of M&E contractors to deliver quality work practices in line with the manufacturer recommendations, established processes, tools and documentation
- Project Estimates and costing (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Works)
- Plan and manage budgets for Engineering & Operational contracts (CapEx / OpEx)
- Manage contract vendors for technical services and ensuring quality standards are met
- To established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the management of the the company’s Critical Environment (CEM)
- Ensure proper engineering documentation and adherence to the established change management controls for all sites
- Conduct audits to ensure that all safety procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plan and escalation procedures are in place and maintained
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards
- Plan and take responsibility for smooth operations of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing installations and Civil works pertaining to the facility
- Manage M&E scope of the projects to ensure the quality and deliverables within the stipulated time
- Develop and implement innovation programs and processes that reduce utility costs, increase productivity and savings
- Continuous optimization of processes, tools and documentation
- Achieve Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement targets
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (licensed Engineer is preferred.)
- 4-6 years experience in an equivalent capacity
- Property and Building facilities operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with the National Building Code and compliance requirements Project Management
- Engineering Vendor Management
- Proficiency in Technical drawings and plans reading and assessments
- Proficient in productivity tools (Google Docs, Google Sheets, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Building Permits and compliance to government mandatory requirement
- Statutory Compliance and Facility Audit
- Service, Critical Systems / Environment, Construction and Project Vendor operations.
