About the role:
The Financial Reporting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of the company's financial statements and reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements. This role involves a high degree of technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments. The Financial Reporting Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and transparency of the company's financial information.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and statement of changes in equity.
- Technical Accounting Research: Stay up-to-date on new accounting pronouncements and regulations, perform technical accounting research, and implement new standards as required.
- GAAP/IFRS Compliance: Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with applicable accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS, as relevant to the company).
- Internal Controls: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of strong internal controls over financial reporting.
- Audit Liaison: Coordinate and manage the external audit process, including preparing supporting documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Tax Reporting Support: Collaborate with the tax department to provide necessary financial information for tax filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insightful explanations to management.
- Reporting to Management: Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to management, highlighting key trends and insights.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor financial reporting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment (if applicable).
- System Implementation: Participate in the implementation and maintenance of financial reporting systems and tools.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- 10 + years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles and practices.
- Advance Level in proficiency of using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Powerpoint
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is highly desirable.
- With experience in Data Analytics preferably Certified Data Analyst/Scientist with experience in using Power BI
