Theoria’s Medical Records Department is seeking individuals to join its team as a medical records specialist.
Shift Structure
- 24/7 coverage with rotating 8-hour shifts, 7 am-3 pm, 3 pm-11 pm- 11 pm-7 am (EST)
- This is a fully remote position.
- This is a full time position requiring 5 days a week of eight-hour shifts.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities and Physical Requirements
- Maintain physical medical records
- Update patients' electronic health records (EHR)
- Respond to ROI (release of information) requests for medical records
- Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information
- Ensure that clinical documentation of the services provided to our patients is correct
- Prepare schedules for patient visits
- Follow all HIPAA regulations
- Perform other clerical duties as needed
- Will be handling inbound and outbound calls
Requirements and Qualifications
- Knowledge in medical terminology and electronic health records is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency and attention to detail.
- Healthcare/Medical background
- Knowledgeable in call handling
Physical Requirements
- Must be punctual or on time and adhere to the company's Time and Attendance policy.
- Must be able to remain sitting for the majority of their shift.
