We are looking for experienced professionals to join us across different units in the Bank for the role of Governance Officer.

In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting a unit's reputation and supporting the Banks financial objectives by identifying, assessing, mitigating, and escalating risks related to policy, process, or regulatory deviations across all governance functions. You will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies by collaborating with key governance unitssuch as Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Oversightto promote a strong, centralized governance framework.

What the role will entail

  • Ensure Regulatory and Policy Compliance: Monitor evolving regulatory requirements, implement policy updates, and conduct compliance assessments across the unit, including AML, data privacy (e.g., GDPR), consumer protection, third-party risk, and business continuity.
  • Lead Risk Management Efforts: Identify, assess, and mitigate key operational, reputational, compliance, and information security risks, while maintaining a risk register and ensuring alignment with the Banks enterprise risk framework.
  • Coordinate Audits and Implement Corrective Actions: Serve as the units point of contact for internal and external audits, track findings, oversee remediation efforts, and conduct readiness self-assessments.
  • Promote Governance Framework and Ethical Standards: Drive adherence to governance policies and best practices, provide advisory support, and foster a culture of accountability, ethics, and transparency across teams.
  • Oversee Business Continuity Management (BCM): Lead BCM planning and execution, including impact analyses, response plan development, continuity testing, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Drive Governance Reporting and Training: Develop and maintain governance dashboards and reports, address stakeholder concerns, and promote awareness through compliance and risk-related training and communications.
  • Support Strategic Governance Projects: Contribute to special initiatives such as ESG, digital governance, and automation; identify process improvements; and collaborate with governance stakeholders to enhance overall governance maturity.

What were looking for

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 35 years of experience in governance-related functions such as compliance, operational risk, or internal audit
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with sound judgment and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a preference for advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrates strong communication, collaboration, and customer focus by engaging stakeholders with clarity and empathy, supporting inclusive teamwork, and acting on feedback to exceed expectations.
  • Applies critical thinking and a results-driven mindset by analyzing data, solving problems, taking initiative, and delivering high-quality outcomes while adapting to changing priorities.
