Job Summary
The Handyman is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant premises, equipment, and facilities are well-maintained, functional, and safe at all times. This position requires strong technical and practical skills in general repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across multiple disciplines including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, basic HVAC, and kitchen equipment servicing. The Handyman will support the operational needs of both Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger to minimize downtime, ensure a safe environment, and maintain high operational standards consistent with the Gordon Ramsay brand.
Key Responsibilities1. General Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine inspections of the restaurant facilities, including dining areas, kitchen, restrooms, storage, and outdoor areas, to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Carry out general repair works including but not limited to:
- Electrical repairs (wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit breaker checks, etc.)
- Plumbing repairs (leaks, clogged drains, faucets, water supply lines, etc.)
- Carpentry (door hinges, handles, shelves, furniture repairs, etc.)
- Painting, varnishing, and surface finishing as required.
- Basic HVAC troubleshooting and filter replacement.
- Ensure kitchen equipment (fryers, ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.) are functioning properly and coordinate with third-party technicians when specialized repairs are needed.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and follow a preventive maintenance checklist for all areas of the restaurant.
- Conduct regular servicing of kitchen equipment, exhaust hoods, grease traps, air-conditioning units, and refrigeration systems.
- Lubricate, adjust, and replace parts as necessary to prevent breakdowns.
- Inspect and maintain fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers) in compliance with safety regulations.
3. Emergency Repairs
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests to minimize operational disruptions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the shortest possible time, especially during peak operating hours.
- Be on-call for emergency repairs, including weekends or holidays if required.
4. Facility Upkeep
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of storage, maintenance, and utility areas.
- Ensure proper disposal of construction debris, used parts, and hazardous materials.
- Oversee minor renovation and improvement works as needed.
5. Coordination & Documentation
- Work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Operations Team to prioritize and schedule repair works.
- Coordinate with external contractors or suppliers for specialized jobs that cannot be handled internally.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used.
- Submit reports on recurring issues and recommendations for long-term solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in building, facility, or restaurant maintenance work.
- Technical skills in multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC).
- Experience with kitchen equipment maintenance in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, tools, and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with different teams.
- Physical stamina to handle manual work, lift heavy objects, and work in various conditions (hot kitchen areas, confined spaces, heights).

Work Schedule

- Ability to stand, climb, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 25 kg when handling equipment and materials.

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
