Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Diagnosis:Examining heavy equipment for proper performance, identifying malfunctions using diagnostic tools, and determining the extent of needed repairs.
- Repair and Maintenance:Overhauling engines, transmissions, and other systems; repairing or replacing damaged parts; performing preventative maintenance like cleaning and lubricating.
- Troubleshooting:Identifying and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
- Record Keeping:Maintaining detailed repair logs and reports.
- Working with Various Equipment:Repairing and maintaining a wide range of machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and more.
- Safety Compliance:Ensuring all work is performed according to safety standards and regulations.
- Communication:Consulting with other mechanics, reporting issues to management, and potentially explaining repairs to clients.
- Adaptability:Staying current with new technologies and repair techniques.
Essential Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, engines, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose complex problems and determine effective solutions.
